Madrid. 1980.

Imanol Ruiz de Lara is a Spanish filmmaker, born in Madrid and raised in Gijón. Son of professional actors, he soon developed an interest in cinema and image creation as a way of cultural an artistic expression. After completing his studies on Communication at the Complutense University in Madrid, he focused on his cinematographic ambitions with aditional courses on Cinema and TV at the International School of San Antonio de los Baños in Cuba. He also has a diploma on Editing by the Cinema Institute of Madrid.

After more than seven years of experience in cinema and television in one of the country most important Production Firms, Globomedia, he decided to expand his career as fashion films director (The Covered Human, The City of Delights) in colaboration with big media platforms, as the online edition of Vogue Spain and brands (Adolfo Domínguez, Yves Saint Laurent and Bimba&Lola).

His aesthetic riding between fashion photography and the masters of independent cinema soon attracted the interest of the advertising world, where he debuted with his work Collisions for Heart Ibiza that placed him in the Cannes Shortlist. He has since then continuosly worked both nationally and internationally in pieces where his contemporary and fashion references coexist with the imaginary and language of Bela Tarr, Won Kar Wai, Jarmusch, Wes Anderson, Roy Andersson and Ulrich Seidl, always with an unique look and a narrative that does not fear intelligent humor or irony. Imanol has created an own style where every nuance counts.

His imagination would set up a place with no limits. That´s Harry.
